Gavin starts school next week!! He is so excited! We got to meet his very nice teacher and see his classroom and we got to take a trip to find him a backpack. Wow! I know he is going to love it! He’s got quite a good start on ABC’s and 123′s already but he didn’t want to show off for his teacher when we met her.
Lilah is talking a lot! And she loves to sing too. She makes a pretty good attempt at Twinkle Twinkle Little Star and Happy Birthday to You. She says “Hi, Ga..in” every time she gets up from a nap. And thanks to Gavin, she also loves flying airplanes with sound effects (whoooosh!) and building anything with legos.
Gavin’s favorite thing at bedtime is reading Richard Scarry’s Best Word Book Ever which coming from him sounds like “Best Work Book Eber”.
We had a nice Easter afternoon at the McClenahans house with Grandpa McClenahan’s sister, Judi Sabella. Lilah enjoyed hunting eggs, while Gavin wanted to climb the tree and play ball and explore. They both enjoyed treats found inside the eggs though.

Lilah is begging Grandpa for more sweets, I think.

Lilah likes finding and opening eggs.

When it got too dark outside, we moved inside and got out the playdough, which Gavin adores and Lilah thinks it must be pretty fun if Gavin is always wanting to play with it.

Playdough is more fun with a Grandma…
The next evening we came over for more fun and we tried blowing really big bubbles in the backyard. Gavin got a few to go up into the sky like balloons disappearing.

photoblog coming soon to a browser near you…
Gavin approves of the new design his employee (his mama) made for this blog. He looked at it and exclaimed in delight and put his hand up on the monitor against the handprints there. I am happy he was interested because I was hoping it would be something he liked to look at, since it is a blog about him and his sister.
Gavin’s favorite things this week are space (the final frontier), caterpillars, popcorn and when Mama helps put Lilah on his shoulders for a piggy/wheelbarrow ride. (In case you have trouble picturing this, I will try to explain. Lilah’s legs are around his neck and he holds her feet and I hold her under the arms and then we run up and down the hallway. They both enjoy this quite alot. I’m hoping Chris will be able to get a picture of us in action soon.
Lilah is climbing onto our couch now! Eek! You can tell she’s so proud of herself but the way down is long for a baby.
Gavin and Lilah are having more and more “play” together now as Lilah is able to do new things each day. I am looking forward to the creation of exclusive words and games between them. Lately Lilah has been reaching out for Gavin’s face and they both laugh when she touches him. Then he takes her hand and tries to help her grab his face again. The learning experiences for both of them are so interesting and exciting to watch. Lilah is learning motor skills and how to play. Gavin is learning that other people have their own ideas and feelings and how much fun it is to make other people laugh!
I will be putting up some new pictures soon too, so check back!
