The Gavin Show
Gavin likes watching himself on screen so much, he wants to be a daily vlogger. In today’s episode, he was having fun going on and off camera.

gavin, ever the intrepid technologist, wanted to share some opinions on himself and the future of video blogs in this, his first of many, vlog:
Come back soon because there’s birthday pictures coming and some beach pictures coming and Great Grandparents pictures too!
Gavin approves of the new design his employee (his mama) made for this blog. He looked at it and exclaimed in delight and put his hand up on the monitor against the handprints there. I am happy he was interested because I was hoping it would be something he liked to look at, since it is a blog about him and his sister.
Gavin’s favorite things this week are space (the final frontier), caterpillars, popcorn and when Mama helps put Lilah on his shoulders for a piggy/wheelbarrow ride. (In case you have trouble picturing this, I will try to explain. Lilah’s legs are around his neck and he holds her feet and I hold her under the arms and then we run up and down the hallway. They both enjoy this quite alot. I’m hoping Chris will be able to get a picture of us in action soon.
Lilah is climbing onto our couch now! Eek! You can tell she’s so proud of herself but the way down is long for a baby.
Gavin and Lilah are having more and more “play” together now as Lilah is able to do new things each day. I am looking forward to the creation of exclusive words and games between them. Lately Lilah has been reaching out for Gavin’s face and they both laugh when she touches him. Then he takes her hand and tries to help her grab his face again. The learning experiences for both of them are so interesting and exciting to watch. Lilah is learning motor skills and how to play. Gavin is learning that other people have their own ideas and feelings and how much fun it is to make other people laugh!
I will be putting up some new pictures soon too, so check back!
the new site is live. like it?
the old, old address (http://www.jazzsequence.com/gavin) is still active (for the time being) but we’ve imported all the posts over here and I’ll be putting a redirect in soon so everything comes here. this site allows for a lot more cool features, better image handling, and embedded video (something the old site was lacking). plus, it looks awesome.
No, I’m not calling Chris old, I’m referring to my speed at putting new pictures up on this blog.
Lilah is crawling around at pretty high speeds now. One day a few weeks ago she was crawling backward. The next day she went forward a few paces and then fell. And then the next day she went all the way down our hallway. It was pretty amazing. I think maybe she was up all night going over the next day’s goals. She’s putting her arms out to be picked up now. Very sweet. She loves to look at pictures of Gavin on the computer screen.
Gavin has begun sleeping in his twin bed most of the time and is getting pretty good at petting the cat nicely again. He likes to point out the cat’s features…ears, toes, tail. He’s fascinated with belly buttons and doesn’t really know that there are other kinds of buttons. He still loves guacamole and cheese (goat). He likes to sing “Row Row Row Your Boat” and “Old MacDonald Had a Farm” and he always notices the moon when we are outside and it’s visible.
Here are the boys cuddling with some “hand coloring” by me.
Chris and the babygirl at Red Butte celebrating Father’s Day.
Lilah looking over her shoulder. That takes alot of balancing skill, folks!
Now she’s working on getting up to standing. She gets on her knees and bounces up and down.
Gavin and Lilah playing together.
alright, folks. here’s attempt #2 and it should be browser- and plugin-independent. gavin’s first movie, take two.
Lilah is crawling a bit, often backwards or around in circles but sometimes forward too. She is very happy to be mobile. She says “bababa” and “ah bwa” and makes all sorts of crazy noises, especially when Gavin or her Daddy is doing something exciting. She’s almost able to sit herself up, but not quite there. However she can stay sitting for a long time now and she enjoys the new higher view of the world.
Gavin is talking more and more. Today I noticed him say at least four words I’d never heard before. He said “lion”, “sweatshirt”, “choose” and “clock”. His frequently used words are getting clearer by the day. When he is tired and trying to delay bedtime he now says ” want jui-cooki-chips-crackers-jui-cheese-juuuuiii???” in a very pleading sort of tone because he isn’t really hungry or thirsty at all and can’t decide what item off the menu to request. He also frequently has the sads now (he says “have sads” ) which is upsetting to hear often but so great that he is communicating about his feelings!
here is a picture of one of gavin’s favorite activities: making off with and playing on the swiveling chair. He wanted lilah to sit with him this time.
here is lilah sitting up all by herself and very excited to be in this photoshoot.
and here’s another of lilah with attitude.
